Health Treks

Dear Friends,

We are happy to announce that Himalayan HealthCare’s fall 2019 medical trek will take place from September 17th to October 3rd. As you know, this is a unique opportunity to volunteer and also experience the beauty of Nepal.  Physicians, dentists, nurses, physician assistants and mental health workers, as well as teachers, veterinarians, agricultural technicians and other volunteers--including family members--are invited to join this two-week trek in a remote region of the Himalayas.

While the trek dates are from September 20th to October 1st, 2019, participants will be asked to arrive in Kathmandu no later than September 17th and depart no sooner than October 3rd, allowing ample time to adjust to the altitude and to accommodate any potential changes to the trek itinerary We are currently scouting a new area for this trek and will post more details on our website in the spring when we have finalized the details.

The trek fee is $3,300, which covers the full cost of the trek, including all meals, but does NOT include airfare to and from Nepal or the hotel stay in Kathmandu. To learn more about the trek and to apply online, please go to the following link:  https://www.himalayanhealthcare.org/node/230#overlay-context=node/230. Please note that we will need a minimum of ten participants to hold the trek. A deposit is required to hold a spot on the trek. Approximately three months in advance of the trek start date, we will refund the deposit if there are fewer than ten applicants.

If you are not in a position to participate, we would greatly appreciate if you would circulate this information to friends and colleagues who may be interested in such an opportunity, especially those who work in the medical/dental professions. As trek alumni, you know what a tremendous experience it is to combine volunteer work to benefit those who are truly needy with the beauty and adventure of trekking in Nepal.  Please spread the word!

If you have questions concerning the trek or the application process, please contact Anil Parajuli at anilhhc@gmail.com or Soni Parajuli at parajuli.soni@gmail.com

All the best for a happy holiday season and a healthy and happy New Year!! We look forward to seeing you in Nepal!

Thank you. The Board of Directors of Himalayan HealthCare
